October 29, 2010 – EnviroMix, a Charleston, South Carolina based technology development firm, has recently signed an agreement with Duoyuan Global Water (DGW), a leading manufacturer of water and wastewater products. Based in Beijing, China, DGW is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and is a major supplier of water and wastewater treatment technologies throughout China.
EnviroMix has developed a patented energy-efficient large-bubble mixing system for the water and wastewater industry which intermittently fires short bursts of compressed air through engineered nozzles attached to the bottom of a tank. The technology requires as much as 60% less energy to mix liquids to industry standards, allowing operators to replace existing mechanical mixers cost effectively.
The companies have executed a software development agreement for process control automation to enhance biological nutrient removal processes. The cooperative agreement leverages broad experiences from both countries to reach a common and global need for clean water. The patent pending process is designed to eliminate the need for costly plant expansion while reducing power demand by as much as 30%.
